1. Types of cookies
Necessary cookies are what is needed to keep the website functioning such as supporting login functions or payment for an e-commerce site.
We only have those types of cookies for individuals who operate our website.
Functional cookies help us personalise your experience. They are anonymous and do not track any activity across the site.
We have a cookie that remembers your browsing language so that you do not have to continue selecting your chosen language.
We also have a cookie that remembers if you have closed our pop-ups so you aren’t bothered by them again.
These cookies help us collect data on how our website functions. When we use these, we can see what works on our website and what does not. It is important for us to have this data so that we know whether our site is performing.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4
We use Google Tag Manager to implement Google Analytics 4 on our website which allows us to see what users are doing on our website. None of these cookies track any of your data from form submissions. With these we measure primarily: whether you interact with our map, how long you spend on pages, how far you scroll down on pages, whether you click a link on the site, if you watch a video and for how long, and whether you subscribe to our newsletter.
No one except those who work at Hooked and occasionally our website developers, freelancers, or agencies that we work with have access to our Google Analytics profiles.
Ad measurement cookies
These cookies are third-party cookies that track web activity so that we know whether our advertisements are working when individuals click onto our website from an ad. These are the types of ad measurement cookies we use:
This allows us to see if our adverts across Facebook/Meta and Instagram are successful. It measures whether you click a retailer or restaurant link if you stay on pages or scroll down or interact with a page.
This allows us to see if our adverts across LinkedIn are successful. It measures whether you submit a form on the site.
This allows us to see if our adverts across Snapchat are successful. It measures whether you scroll down or stay on a page.
This allows us to see if our adverts across TikTok are successful. It measures whether you view a page.
As an individual, you can decide how long your browser holds cookies from websites. If you are not sure how to do this for your browser, you can look this information up in the Help or Support section of your browser’s website.
When it comes to the cookies we hold, we provide you the optiaon to change your cookie preferences via our Cookie Settings menu.
When you engage with our website and it is logged as an event in Google Analytics 4, we can better track what is working on our website and what is not. Google Analytics 4 retains this data for 14 months total.
We have forms for collecting email addresses for our newsletters as you can see in our Footer. This information is sent directly to MailerLite, which we use to send out emails about Hooked every other week with information about opportunities to try Hooked products, coupons, events, new product launches and anything else that we think our customers may be interested in.
We retain this data so long as the user is subscribed to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email you receive.
We have contact forms on our Contact Us pages and pages for retailers and restaurants. This information is sent directly to our website manager via email and stored within the site as a backup. We have a policy of deleting this data every two years.
